Most likely, you have seen some of the wonderful princesses of the jet set world roam around with their little cut dogs And you want to do the same. Sadly, you do not have the massive amounts of money that they have to hire someone that will take care of their "babies" when their little arms get tired.
Not to mention having hired carriers that will take over the care and responsibility of your dog when you do not want to do it anymore. Yet, despite all the glamor in which this has been viewed, it is irresponsible.
Nonetheless, not having hired help does not mean that you cannot use a pet carrier. They will allow you to travel with your furry friend wherever you might need to go and in almost any means of transportation. Most of them are airline approved pet carriers, some will allow you to load your dog in the plane with you while others will not.
Carriers come in a variety of materials, textures, colors and even prices. For sure there is one that will suit your pup regardless of the breed. At least, while he or she is small enough. Afterwards, there might be a distinct need to acquire something bigger making it impossible for you to carry your pup around like you once did.
Amongst the most popular pet carriers that are sold are two styles: backpack and sherpa pet carriers. Of these the most comfortable for both the owner and the dog is the sherpa, since it allows the pup to see what is happening around him.
The type of carriers that you should be looking for when browsing the stores is one that provides your pet with a safe trip, has enough room to stand or lay. It should also suit your needs, preferences and lifestyle and preferably be allowed as an airline pet carrier.
Using a carrier might not be the ideal way for you to travel with your dog or cat, but it will be the safest way for them. Travel carriers can be used as car carriers that will keep dogs safe in the event of a traffic accident or any type of collision.
Purse crafted or designer dog carriers are not intended for large breeds, sadly these are generally only small dog carriers. The same thing applies to sherpa dog carriers. In addition, small breeds are usually allowed as airline pet carriers that you can take with you inside the plane and not in the cargo bay.
Bigger breeds require other types of dog carriers, which are usually transported on the car top carrier while the dog sits inside of it. Attempting to transport your dog tied up in the car top along with the cage or locked inside the trunk is not only inhuman, but also illegal and serious penalties can be faced.
If your life takes you on the flight, then check with the airline that you will be using if they have their own type of airline carrier and be advised that if they do, they generally use the same as cat carriers and as dog carriers. If you already bought your own carriers, then make sure that they are approved; it is a better bet since your pet can be more protected from diseases.
If the airline does not have their own airline approved dog carriers, and your pooch is small enough, you might be able to board him or her with you if he or she fits comfortably in sherpa carriers. The advantage of non-wired carriers is that they are usually soft pet carriers that are gentle with the precious paws of our babies.
Nonetheless, the call to the airline is a step that you need to take since each airline has its own idea of what an airline approved dog carrier should be. Sometimes the carriers that they approve are of a specific brand rather than a general model. In other times, the carriers that they allow have to pass certain and specific safety regulations.
These regulations in an airline approved pet carrier can vary according to the animal, destination, fierceness and other characteristics.
